Glass Fiber Production Technician

Compensation: $23.27/hour + shift differentials

Status: Union position, full-time

Shifts: Be prepared to work any shift (Days, Swing, Night, and a Jump Shift)

A day in the life

You arrive, gear up with steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection, and step onto a fast-paced manufacturing floor where heat, noise, and moving equipment keep you alert. Your shift kicks off at the glass fiber line: you collect material, monitor machines, and keep product flowing to meet visual, weight, and packaging specifications. When a jam happens, you clear it safely and get production back on track. Between runs, you label bales, seal them tight, record key data, and move finished product using a hydraulic lift truck (training provided). During scheduled downtime, you help with maintenance and cleanup so the next run starts clean and safe. Throughout the shift, you follow written and verbal directions, collaborate with teammates, and uphold safety, environmental, and ISO quality procedures.

What you’ll do

• Operate machinery to collect, compress, bind, and package glass fiber products
• Move packaged materials with a hydraulic lift truck (training provided)
• Inspect output for quality and weight accuracy before final packaging
• Label, seal, and document production for each bale
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and clear jams
• Follow supervisor instructions and standard procedures
• Assist with maintenance and cleanup during scheduled line downtime
• Keep your work area orderly and wear required PPE at all times
• Comply with company safety rules, environmental standards, and ISO quality practices

What you bring

• At least 1 month of related experience, training, or education
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Ability to follow instructions and apply basic problem solving
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand, bend, reach, squat, and climb stairs
• Willingness to complete internal forklift certification
